Greetings Parents, Guardians, Students and Community Members,

It is an honor to join the Unity Braxton Middle School community as your new principal, and I am looking forward to working with an outstanding leadership team and a strong, knowledgeable and caring faculty and staff.  I am also eager to begin building relationships with our students, families and community partners that make Unity Braxton an amazing place to learn.  In 2012, I had the opportunity to work at our school when it was known as Stonewall, and I am excited to have the opportunity to come home in my new position!

The 2020-2021 school year will in many ways be different for students, staff and our families. For starters, we will have a new name, and we are excited about opportunities to continue to build upon our school spirit. The school day will also look different for many students as we reopen our building with enhanced procedures and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Despite these changes, I want to reassure you that Unity Braxton will continue to be a place where we place the needs of our students first. Our traditions are rooted in high expectations, the IB middle years program, and student-centered learning.  It is very important that every student, parent, staff member and visitor who enters our school feels welcome, important, and that their input matters.  We want every student to feel excited to be here and proud to be a member of our school community.

As for me, I am a Prince William County Schools’ graduate, and I have over 20 years of experience working for our great school system. I have served as an assistant principal, IB Middle Years Program Coordinator, social studies teacher, athletics coach and security assistant at Hampton, Marsteller and Stonewall Middle Schools. I currently live in the Fredericksburg area with my wife, Lisa, and our daughter Payton. I enjoy coaching softball, reading, and visiting Walt Disney World.

I look forward to partnering with you and working together to ensure your child receives a quality education in a supportive environment. I encourage you to take on an active role throughout every year of your child’s middle school experience.  Please contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns.  My door is always open, and I appreciate and value your feedback! I can’t wait to get started!
