Hello Students and Families,

I hope that everyone is doing well. On Monday, March 23, 2020 Virginia Governor Northam ordered that all Virginia schools will be closed to students for the remainder of the school year, that includes Stonewall Middle. I am saddened that I will not be able to be in the school building with all of you for the remainder of this school year, but that does not mean that our time together is over. I am here for all of you in whatever way is possible during these unprecedented times.

- All assignments prior to March 13 are completed and grades are up to date in the hub (studentvue and parentvue).

- There are no assignments or projects that need to be completed at this time.

- IXL is a website where students can practice and review the standards that we have already taught this school year. There is a list below of those standards.

- The **Useful Links** tab on the left has links to online activities, videos and game based activities you can do at home.

I will be using this page and Google Classroom during this time away from school. Right now, both locations have the same information. I will do my best to let you know when or if information is only accessible on here or in Google Classroom. Below is the information for Google Classroom, IXL and the Prince William County Schools (PWCS) Home Learning page.

**Virginia 6th Grade Math Curriculum & what we did:**

There are 7 units in the 6th grade math curriculum. We left off in unit 6 so there wasn't much left to teach. Below is a list of the standards we have taught and what we didn't get to.

**Standards we learned in the 2019-2020 school year by March 13, 2020:**

6.1 Ratios

6.2 Fraction, Decimal, Percent

6.3 Integers and Absolute Value

6.4 Exponents and Perfect Squares

6.5 Fraction and Decimal Operations

6.6 Integer Operations and Order of Operations

6.8 Coordinate Plane

6.9 Congruency

6.12 Proportions

6.13 Equations

6.14 Inequalities

**Standards that we did not get to**:

6.7 Pi, Circumference, Perimeter, and Area

6.10 Circle graphs and graph comparisons

6.11 Measures of Center (mean, median, mode)

Please let me know if you have difficulty logging into anything or any other questions/concerns you may have. In addition to what is here, please also check on your math teacher’s page to see what they have. This is a difficult and stressful time for all of us and the most important thing is that you and your families are safe and minimizing stress during this time.

Miss and love you,

Mrs. Milas
