I will post an activity on Google Classroom once a week on Wednesdays until June 10th that I really hope you will try out. It will sometimes be a video, or it will be an article about what we're going through right now for you to share your thoughts about, or it could be a poem. I'm trying to mix it up and make it meaningful for both of us. So much is feeling upside down, and I think we can help each other through it! So that means some of them will be just for fun! Fun is important! Keep checking our Google Classroom, please, please join in, and know you are loved!

JSmith Google Classroom code to join is:  heevdrf

During this COVID-19 closure, you know I’m going to encourage, and yes even beg, that you read every day J!  It can be anything!  I hope that on that last Friday you were able to take a book home with you.  But if not, I’m going to be posting on Useful Links the website to our PWC Public Library where you can read E-books.  Also, I remember many of you had graphic novels you were reading online—continue that!  Reading recipes counts!  Reading to your younger sisters and brothers counts!  Reading directions on how to play a game counts!  Taking turns reading the same book out loud with a friend counts!  Reading the same book with a friend that you Facetime with counts! Reading magazines counts!  Reading articles online about any topic counts!

I am also including on Useful Links a website from Scholastic that has free articles that cover just about any topic you may be interested in or curious about.

Keep reading any time you can, my amazing and talented students.  You deserve to stay sharp, informed, and skilled.

Much, much love to you,

Ms. Smith

Google Classroom

I have a Google Classroom for us!  Join with our code:  heevdrf

Also, Google Classroom works on the PS4 and Xbox One browsers if getting to a computer is challenging!

We will be using Google Classroom this year.  Google Classroom allows me to create and collect assignments paperlessly.  Students can keep track of what is due on theAssignments page and begin working with a click.  Students should login with your Stonewall Middle School Google Apps account.  To access Google Classroom, visit:

http://classroom.google.com.

If parents would like access to Google Classroom, please email me your current email address so that I can send you an invitation.

Special Notes:
1. At this point in the year, we have covered all Reading Standards

2. All grades are up to date in my gradebook.  If you would like the opportunity to make up any missing assignments prior to March 12, please contact me. I am happy to work with you.
